Goalkeepers

Christos Mastrou

Christos Mastrou is a goalkeeper for Anorthosis Famagusta FC in the Cypriot Championship First Division. Having excelled for Anagennisi Derynia FC, where he played 42 games within 2 years helping the team to go up from Third Division to First Division, Mastrou made an excellent season (2011-2012) with Anagennisis in First Division and on 29/02/2012 he deputed for the Cyprus National Team against Serbia. His performances in Championship have led Anorthosis FC to sing him at the age of 24. Mastrou tries to establish himself in the first team of Anorthosis Famagusta FC and for the Cyprus National Team.



Defenders

Lefteris (Eleftherios) Mertakas

DOB: 16/03/1985   Nationality: Cypriot   Team: AEK LARNACA Lefteris (Eleftherios) Mertakas

Mertakas is a modern day, hardworking, right back. Having some great experience under his belt at such age he has a lot to offer to his current club AEK LARNACA and also to Cyprus National Team. Mertakas is highly rated in both attack and defensive situation. He began his career in Enosis Neon Paralimni Football Academies in which he become a full member of the 1st team squat in 2003. After playing 104 games with Enosis in Cyprus Championship First Division he moved in AEK LARNACA in 2012.


Demetris Economou

DOB: 10/11/1992   Nationality: Cypriot   Team: Anorthosis Famagusta FC Demetris Economou

Economou is a young and talented central defender who made his deput in Cyprus Championship First Division at the age of 17. Demetris joined Enosis Neon Paralimni football academies in 2001. After having sufficient apperances in Enosis Youth Team and in all the Nationals Youth Teams of Cyprus (U15-U17-U21) in 2009 he made Cedomir Janevski, current head coach of FYROM National Team, to take him in the First Team Squat of Enosis. Within 3 years he was proven to be a strong defender ready to play in the First Division. In 2012 Anorthosis Famagusta FC paid 150.000 Euro transfer fee to Enosis and sign Demetris for 5 years.



Midfielders

Costakis (Kostakis) Artymatas

DOB: 15/04/1993   Nationality: Cypriot   Team: Enosis Neon Paralimni Costakis (Kostakis) Artymatas

Artymatas is an intelligent and modern box-to-box midfielder who is capable to play both as defensive midfielder and also as an attacking midfielder. He has an excellent, strong body structure and perfect stamina which letting him stop any player in the midfield zone and at the same time giving him the ability to counter attack and create chances for goals. Costakis began his football career in Enosis Neon Paralimni Academies in the age of 9. When he turn 15 years old, Nottingham Forrest FC scouters convinced him to join their Academies under Scholarship. In 2008 Nottingham paid a notable transfer fee to Enosis as training and development expenses and took Costakis to UK for 3 years. Despite the fact that Nottingham offered to Artymatas a professional contract, Costakis stayed after his Scholarship only for one year and then he returned to Cyprus in order to serve  his military service which he is obliged to do under Cyprus Law. In June 2012 Artymatas sign a professional contract with Enosis Neon Paralimni and from the first moment he became an indispensable player for the team. His excellent football rendition made Nicos Nioplias, Cyprus National Team coach, to called him in the squat for the Brazilian World Cup qualifiers. On 12/10/2012 he deputed in the Cyprus National Team in the game against Slovenia and he prove to all the football fans that he is not just a promising talent but a professional top level football player.



Attackers

Georgios (George) Tofas

DOB: 17/06/1989   Nationality: Cypriot   Team: Enosis Neon Paralimni Georgios (George) Tofas

Tofas made his debut for Enosis first team at 15 and until 2007 he made several appearances for Enosis. At the age of 17 AEK Athens paid Enosis Paralimni a transfer fee for training and development expenses and Tofas signed for AEK Athens where he went straight into the first team squad and trained with players like Rivaldo and Akis Zikos. Lorenzo Serra Ferrer the former FC Barcelona coach was very impressed by Tofas and kept him with the 1st team of AEK as long he was there. Because he was spotted playing mostly in AEK Athens U-21 team, in January 2009 he went to Middlesbrough and then to Anorthosis Famagusta FC on loan. Tofas has also been called into the Cyprus National Squad several times. On 2 November 2010, Tofas signed for Queens Park Rangers in which he debuted against Norwich City on 1 January 2011. He was promoted to Premier League with QPR as champions of the Football League Championship in the 2010–11 season. In 2011 he returned to Cyprus and play for one football season 2011-12 in Anagennisi Derynia. In June 2012 Tofas moved to Enosis Neon Paralimni. He is a strong and fast Attacking Midfielder who can play very good to both Left or Wright Wing of the attacking zone and also behind the striker position.
